I’ve mentioned before that I’ve never been a huge fan of wallpaper. Once you tried to peel wallpaper off of a wall, you say to yourself, “I will never put up wallpaper again!” Well, I guess I’m far enough removed from my last horrible wallpaper experience because I ordered four rolls for my powder bathroom. Even my husband (the wallpaper hater) loves what I’ve chosen! I chose this wall covering from Designers Guild:
It is a light purpley-pink. The marble on the floor is purple, grey and lilac. I decided not to hide from the crazy marble. I’m just going to play it up. It’s going to look fun and elegant at the same time. I’m excited to have some color in my home!
Designers Guild is a fabulous company out of London. It is owned and run by Tricia Guild and her brother. If you love color and pattern, you will love all Designers Guild products. The patterns and colors speak for themselves, so I’m just going to post a lot of pictures for you! They carry everything from linens and pillows to designer fabric and wall coverings. AND they’re having a big SALE right now, so find something beautiful for yourself!
Are you in love yet? I know I am! I know that it’s kind of wild, but the colors and patterns are just exquisite.
Pink and gold is one of my favorite combos. I think I saw it first in a Martha Stewart wedding magazine. Here are a few examples that I just love.

What’s your favorite color combination?
I know there have been a lot of posts on throw pillows lately, but I really think they bring a room together. So here are my favorite throw pillows under $100 on Layla Grace right now.
Which is your favorite?
Do you remember when I bought this wingback chair for a steal at a local antique shop? It is finally reupholstered and refinished? I just couldn’t find any fabric I liked. Finally, one of my favorite fabric stores, Fabric Factory, got this new velvety fabric in stock. They carry it in five or six different colors. I chose this beautiful greenish-grey color. I absolutely love it! It’s one of my favorite things I’ve done so far. Hope you like it too!
I’m excited to tell you that Dwell Studio now has a line of fabric at Calico Corners! I’ve always loved Dwell for their beautiful prints. The colors and patterns are so gorgeous. Here are a few of my favorites.
You can order these fabrics by the yard or have Calico make just about anything with them.
I’ve been wanting to do a picture wall for awhile now. It was really a process to get everything together. First, find the right frames to fit the wall. Second, go through all of your photos and pick your favorites one’s. Inevitably, you will have more photos than frames to put them in. This is where it can get tricky. In my case, I picked unusual sized mattes and frames. So I had to find the pictures that would look best together and fit in the frames. Lastly, hang the frames on the wall. Easier said than done, right? Here’s how I did it…
1) I traced all of the frames onto paper and cut them out. These were my templates to put on the wall.
2) I used painter’s tape to “draw a line” on the wall. I measured from the floor up, using the buffet as a guide.
3) I rearranged these templates many times to get them exactly where I wanted them, mirroring the arrangement on the opposite side of the TV. You can see the crosses on the paper. This is where my nail holes will go into the wall. I measured hooks on the back of each frame.
4) Hang pictures on the wall!
How is your mantle decorated? Most likely it is the focal-point of your living room. It’s a place to put a beautiful mirror or piece of art. So I have two questions… Are you symmetrical or unsymmetrical? AND Do you treat your mantle as the beautiful display piece that it is?
Unless otherwise mentioned, photos are from Decorpad.

And the queen of symmetry is Phoebe Howard. Here are a few of her mantle designs.
So what are you? Symmetrical or unsymmetrical? I have two mantels in my home. I think I’ll do one of each.
